BIO: My name is Elena Nazarenko  and I am a registered  massage  therapist  with the National Practitioners   of Canada.   I began  my journey  as a therapist  at the age of 5, walking  on the back of my parents  and grandparents   at the  Black  Sea in Ukraine.  My grandmother   always  pushed me towards  massage  therapy.  Back  home  over the counter  medications   were not easy to
come  by, and families  relied on traditional   medicine  of massage,  compresses   and herbs and it was in this way grandma  kept  our family  healthy  and strong.  I began  my journey  as a registered therapist  after shutting  down  a group  home that  I had operated  for over 11 years. After graduating  with  distinction   from the 2200  hour massage  therapy  program  at the Professional Institute  of Massage  Therapy  I traveled  to Thailand  on  study  tour  though  NHPC and expanded my education   by completing   level 1 & 2 of Traditional  Thai Massage.   After working  at a clinic  in town  I took  the leap and started  my own  private  practice,  named  after a tree that  symbolizes renewal  and new beginnings.

I am extremely  passionate  about  the healing  art of Massage  Therapy  and  I continue  to learn, grow  and perfect  my techniques   with  each individual  treatment.    I've taken  many courses  over the years  (cupping,  lymphatic,  foot  reflexology,  auricular  therapy,  heated  bamboo)  and have done volunteer  work  teaching  self care training  and providing  mobile  treatments   at Nursing Homes  in Saskatoon.   I have had over 10000 clinical  treatment   hours and have been blessed with  a thriving  practice.    I've had some  exciting  breakthroughs   throughout   my treatments   and
have developed   a different  approach  and style to my treatments  and am excited  to share it with others.

In summer  of 2022,  I began  accepted  the offer of joining  the team  of instructors   at the Professional   Institute  of Massage  Therapy.  After  teaching  music  for many years of my life, getting  back  into the classroom  was second  nature to me and reminded  my how much  I had missed  it.   Teaching  at the college  has been a gift and has given  me the confidence   to yet again take  another  leap into expanding   my practice  by beginning  to teach  and mentor  other therapists,   and anyone  interested  in advancing  their training  and perfect  their skills  in the healing  art of  Massage  Therapy.
